THE CONCEPT.

The original idea to start training Executive/Close Protection Operatives in the USA was conceived, and then introduced to Gary Rowley, in 1995 by Eddie Warren. With the onset of the new handgun legislation in the U.K, and Eddie's affinity with the USA, in particular Southern California, it was a natural assumption to start looking at the USA as a location for their means.

Whilst both completing contracts in various parts of the world, Eddie and Gary realised that the overall standard of operatives was below the standard they assumed existed. This kept the concept of the Executive Protection Training programme in the forefront of their thoughts.

In January 1998 Eddie and Gary went over to Southern California to carry out a feasibility study on the possibility of starting a training academy overseas. The feedback from every source was overwhelming, there seemed to be no negatives, just an over-riding desire to move forward.

A pilot course was run in June 1998, under the control of Eddie with Gary assisting, with the support of an established security firm. The course proved to be a resounding success with everyone agreeing that the foundations for the future of Close Protection Training had been set. In conjunction with our foundations for the future, was the development of a realistic course criteria that encompassed all aspects of the Executive/Close Protection Industry.

THE COURSE.

The course starts in Exmouth, Devon with First aid and Bomb awareness training. They then move via Heathrow to Huntingdon Beach, California for training such as Walking drills, Vehicle embus/debus drills, Situation awareness training, Driving skills, Live firing drills and Final Exercise. The course is not 'an attend' course but has a pass or fail certification. Theoretical knowledge of the subject is regarded as highly as practical ability, therefore students undergo a mid-term and final written test.

THE TEAM.

Having already instructed for the previously No.1 Executive training course, Task, Eddie has selected and engineered a professional, challenging and above all, realistic package, that will place other courses firmly on the back foot.

The instructors are all experienced former servicemen who have been selected because of their motivation, team spirit and professionalism. Both partners are thoroughly dedicated to maintaining standards.
